How does a Beginner Golfer Use a Driver?

Updated: Jan 20, 2023

1. Start by setting up to the ball with your feet shoulder-width apart, your weight evenly distributed and your hands slightly ahead of the ball.

2. Take your grip with your left hand slightly lower on the club's handle than your right.

3. Make sure your shoulders and hips are square to the target, and your eyes are focused on the ball.

4. Swing your club back in a smooth, controlled motion, keeping your arms close to your body and your head down.

5. Start your downswing by shifting your weight onto your left side, and driving your hips toward the target.

6. As your club approaches the ball, keep your head down and your eyes focused on the ball.

7. Make sure to release the club through the ball and follow through with your swing.
